Thought I’d post my birth story, I found it comforting reading everyone else’s when I was pregnant.. On the Monday night I started having very mild contractions so I didn’t sleep, me and Matt got up the next day expecting to finally meet our baby who was a day late already, however my contractions wore off and disappeared, on the Tuesday night they began to pick up again and were quite strong 3-4 mins apart so at 12am Wednesday morn we went to the hospital, turns out I was only 2cm so back home we went, another night of no sleep and the Thursday approached still experiencing the contractions (very painful by now) on the Thursday afternoon my waters broke so thought that today was the day, another trip to the hospital to once again be sent home as I wasn’t dilated enough even though my water was broke, they booked me in for an induction the next morning! However Thursday night and my contractions were back to back, we went back to the hospital (hoping for the last time) where they told me I still wasn’t dilated enough to be admitted and suggested I walked round the hospital for 2 hours in the hope that I progressed just half a cm more, 11pm came and back I went to be told I was being sent home again, after 4 agonising days of contractions I still had to go home, however the following morning i couldn’t bare the pain anymore and took my last trip to the hospital where I was finally allowed to stay in, and had every single pain relief available, gas and air, pethedine and an epidural, when it was time to push my body was so exhausted I was unable to do it myself so after being rushed to theatre where I had forceps and a episiotomy I finally gave birth! and every single bit was worth it to finally meet my baby and see my husband become a father to our beautiful daughter, it’s amazing what our bodies have been made to do and I thank the lord for our healthy baby! Sorry it’s so long ☺️
